Apple, Where is the HomePod?

It was announced last Friday (November 17th) that Apple’s highly anticipated smart speaker system, HomePod, the release date has been delayed until ‘early 2018.’

A spokesperson for Apple said:  

"We can’t wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple's breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it’s ready for our customers," Apple said. "We’ll start shipping in the US, UK and Australia in early 2018."

September 12th saw one of Apple’s most ambitious event yet. With rumours circulating months before the date of the launch, Apple enthusiasts and the average smartphone user alike were desperate to find out what Apple had in store for their tenth anniversary, and they did not disappoint. For example, the outstanding iPhone X which, whilst isolating a major proportion of the public with the not so humble price tag of £999 – the most expensive smartphone to date, represents the future of the smart phone. The Apple Watch Series 3 which can now be purchased with cellular activity, meaning users no longer require their iPhone to receive calls and iMessages, they can simply use their new wearable, and the upgraded Apple TV, which now includes 4K and HDR capabilities.

Autumn: The Season of the Smartphone

Planet of the Apps - The B60 Breakdown

You may have seen the super dramatic, super cheesy and super American adverts for the brand new Apple show ‘Planet of the Apps’. If you haven’t, told Apple that people would want to watch budding ‘app-trepreneurs’ (have I coined that phrase?) slide down an escalator for sixty seconds pitching their app idea to 4 sassy public figures –, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Gary Vaynerchuk. If the advisors like the idea and ‘swipe’ to accept working with the budding techies, they then support them through a development and fundraising process to get the app in the app store via a final venture capitalist pitch. It’s a bit like an ‘Inception’ of Dragon’s Den - A Dragon’s Den within a Dragon’s Den.
