Artificial Intelligence (AI) is beginning to creep into all aspects of the business world and our daily lives. Whilst many still don’t fully understand how AI technology even works, others are utilising it as potent business tool and driving productivity and efficiency.

AI isn’t just a craze, it’s a modern day technological revolution. If you wish to stay ahead of the curve in the next five to ten years, adopting this tech is crucial for your organisation. And what better way to start than by incorporating chatbots?


Slow Down… What’s a Chatbot?

Before I get ahead of myself, I best explain what a chatbot even is. They’re essentially programs with a conversational user interface. You’ll no longer have to click buttons in order to execute product functions, instead users can type or say a command and expect the same results.

Chatbots won’t be a new concept to you. Facebook’s M, Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri are all popular versions of this emerging tech, but there are countless more chatbots lurking behind these large brand names.

They’re covering everything, from customer service to weather forecasting, and with over 34,000 new chatbots built in 2016, they’re only going to get bigger this year.


More Than Just a Toy

Whilst chatbots can often appear to be ‘toys’, that won’t stop them from disrupting industries in the next few years. Their ability to process language enables them to perform daily tasks in areas such as customer service and even scheduling appointments in the medical industry.

Chatbots remove the constraints of buttons and pixels on a screen and replace them with voices. Even though we know we’re talking to a bot, it’s still a more enjoyable and engaging experience overall.


Building For the Future

Chatbots are a quick, effective and versatile way of implementing AI within your organisation. Bots are going to become a necessity for businesses moving forwards and as the technology grows, so will their capabilities.

They will soon be able to handle more complex tasks, have more natural conversations with users and will be utilised more in everyday life. By building a bot now, you’re setting your business up for success in the future.
